As part of the Adjunct Professor World Class University (WCU) program, Prof. Minsu Ha, Ph.D., from the Department of Biology Education, Seoul National University, South Korea, delivered two consecutive General Lectures (GL) hosted by Science Education Study Program. The events aimed to strengthen academic collaboration with international universities and enhance the global competitiveness of the institution.

General Lecture 1: Strategies and Best Practices to Publish in Reputable Science Education Journals

The first general lecture began promptly at 13:30 WIB, opened by Dina Maharani, an undergraduate student of Science Education, who served as the Master of Ceremony. The session was moderated by Siska Amelia Rahmat.

In this session, Prof. Minsu Ha shared valuable insights on strategies and best practices for publishing in high-impact science education journals. He discussed key steps in preparing manuscripts that meet rigorous academic standards and provided practical tips on attracting the attention of journal editors and reviewers. His presentation inspired participants to improve their academic writing and contribute to global scholarly discussions in science education.

General Lecture 2: Science for Gifted Students

The second lecture, though slightly delayed due to heavy rain, was opened by Bulan Praharsini, a Science Education undergraduate student, and moderated by Anisa Fitriani.

During the session, Prof. Minsu Ha presented engaging material on science education for gifted students, highlighting innovative approaches used in South Korea to nurture scientific potential. He showcased examples of schools implementing specialized science programs for gifted learners and discussed strategies to foster creativity, critical thinking, and advanced inquiry through challenging learning experiences.

Both lectures were attended by students from undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in Science Education, who actively participated throughout the sessions. Through this Adjunct Professor program, UPI continues to strengthen its global academic network and promote excellence in science education research and teaching.
