Are you considering a grade appeal for one of your courses? The Science Education Program (Prodi Pendidikan IPA) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) has established a clear, structured mechanism to ensure transparency and fairness in academic grading.
This guide outlines the 6-step procedure for Undergraduate (S1), Master’s (S2), and Doctoral (S3) students to formally appeal their grades.
The 6-Step Grade Appeal Process
- Step 1: Document Preparation (Dokumen) Gather your supporting evidence before initiating the process. This includes graded assignments, Midterm Exams (UTS), Final Exams (UAS), scientific articles, or any relevant academic portfolios that justify a review.
- Step 2: Report to the Course Instructor (Lapor kepada Dosen Pengampu MK) Contact your specific course instructor to formally present your request and obtain their agreement for a grade review.
- Step 3: Evaluation by the Instructor (Dosen Pengampu MK) The instructor will evaluate your submission and conduct the review in accordance with current academic policies.
- Step 4: Request to the Head of Study Program (Surat Permohonan Kaprodi) If the instructor approves the change, they will submit a formal grade appeal letter to the Head of the Study Program (Kaprodi).
- Step 5: Request Submission to the Dean and Rectorate (Surat Permohonan ke Dekanat dan Rektorat) The Head of the Study Program will then forward the application to the Faculty (FPMIPA) and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at UPI as the final administrative phase.
- Step 6: Completion (Selesai) Once approved, the final grade adjustment is officially recorded and updated in the UPI Academic Information System (SIAK).
