The Science Education Study Program (Pendidikan IPA), FPMIPA, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, bid a warm farewell to one of its dedicated laboratory staff members, Sir Latief Budiana, whose service to our study program came to a close at the end of April 2026

Sir Latief Budiana has long been a familiar and meaningful figure in our study program, serving as a laboratory technician in the Physics Laboratory as well as the person in charge of the multimedia laboratory. His commitment and presence in the day-to-day operations of these facilities have been greatly valued by faculty, staff, and students.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the study program held its regular weekly meeting focused on accreditation work. However, that week’s session was made even more special by an additional agenda—a farewell ceremony for Sir Latief. This event was known in Sundanese tradition as “paturay tineung,” a term that beautifully captures the spirit of parting with gratitude and warm wishes.

The paturay tineung was filled with heartfelt moments. Representatives from the chief of study program, several lecturers, particularly those who had frequently worked alongside Bapak Latief in the laboratory, as well as fellow education support staff (tendik), each took the opportunity to share their impressions and messages. Sir Latief himself was also given the floor to deliver his thoughts and gratitude after years of service.

The ceremony was closed with the presentation of a souvenir from the study program as a token of appreciation, followed by a group photo session to commemorate the occasion. The science education study program extends its deepest gratitude to Sir Latief Budiana for his years of service and wishes him all the best in the next chapter of his life.
