To foster a robust academic atmosphere and boost international scientific publication outputs, the Science Education Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), organized a Workshop on Writing Reputable Scientific Articles for all Undergraduate (S1), Master’s (S2), and Doctoral (S3) Science Education students.
Held on-site at the FPMIPA UPI Auditorium, the workshop featured three internationally recognized scholars as keynote speakers: Prof. Ari Widodo, M.Ed., Ph.D. (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia), Prof. Myeong-Gu Park(Kyungpook National University, South Korea), and Prof. Jungjoo Sohn (Korea National University of Education, South Korea).
Fostering Academic Writing and Global Publication Standards
The workshop was specifically designed to equip Science Education students with practical strategies for drafting high-impact manuscripts suitable for top-tier international journals (Scopus/Web of Science indexed).
During his session, Prof. Ari Widodo highlighted the crucial role of research novelty and logical structuring in academic writing. He shared practical guidelines on defining clear research gaps to capture the attention of journal editors and peer reviewers.
Expanding on international research standards, Prof. Myeong-Gu Park provided in-depth insights into effective data visualization, structuring research findings, and maintaining academic integrity. Meanwhile, Prof. Jungjoo Sohn addressed global standards in academic writing and shared expert advice on constructively responding to peer-review feedback.
High Engagement Across All Degree Programs
The event drew active participation from undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in Science Education. Beyond theoretical presentations, participants engaged in hands-on manuscript clinics and interactive Q&A sessions directly with the visiting professors.
The Head of the Science Education Program emphasized that this international collaboration forms a core part of the program’s commitment to supporting student academic success and internationalization.
