The General Lecture entitled “Studi Kasus Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat di Era Dekarbonisasi” was held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Showroom FPMIPA B, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FPMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The lecture was delivered by Yuichi Hara, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Education, Okayama University, and was assisted by Dr. K. F. Ardh as the translator.
In his presentation, Dr. Hara discussed a number of community service program case studies implemented in various social and educational settings, particularly within the context of the decarbonization era. He emphasized the role of higher education institutions in addressing environmental and societal challenges through education-based community engagement. The lecture highlighted the importance of collaboration among academia, government, industry, and civil society to ensure that community service initiatives are sustainable, locally relevant, and capable of creating long-term impact.

The lecture also provided reflections on the implementation of project-based learning and international collaborative programs, underlining the need for meaningful community involvement and continuous evaluation of program outcomes. Through this activity, participants gained insights into how community service can function not only as an academic requirement but also as a strategic contribution to sustainable development and social responsibility. The event contributed to strengthening academic discourse on community engagement within FPMIPA UPI.
