Adding to the international accolades of the Science Education Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Ms. Lia Laela Sarah has been awarded the prestigious Silver Nadim Award at the International Symposium for Science and Mathematics Classroom Teachers (ISSMCT) 2025.

The international symposium took place on February 25–26, 2025, at the SEAMEO RECSAM (Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics) facility in Penang, Malaysia.

Excellence in ICT-Based Pedagogical Practices

The Silver Nadim Award recognizes outstanding pedagogical classroom practices in ICT Education. Ms. Lia Laela Sarah earned this recognition following her paper presentation titled:

“Visualization-Supported, Microcontroller-Based Experiments in Science Lesson to Accelerate Conceptual Understanding”

Her award-winning research demonstrates innovative classroom integration, combining microcontroller technology with visual representations to accelerate students’ conceptual understanding of complex science topics.

Promoting Classroom Innovation Across Southeast Asia

The Nadim Award is presented by SEAMEO RECSAM to honor exemplary science and mathematics educators across the region who drive pedagogical innovation, integrate educational technology effectively, and enhance classroom learning outcomes.

The award certificate was signed by Dr. Azman bin Jusoh, Centre Director of SEAMEO RECSAM.
