🕘 09.00 – 11.30 WIB
🏛️ Auditorium FPMIPA UPI

Collaborative Teaching Event with the course “Research Methodology in Science Education” was successfully conducted by the Science Education Study Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). This program is part of Adjunct Professor Series and as UPI’s effort to enhance academic quality, expand international collaboration, and support the university’s vision of becoming a World Class University.

The event featured Prof. Minsu Ha, Ph.D. from Seoul National University (South Korea) — a university ranked among the Top 100 QS World University Rankings — alongside Prof. Dr. Parlindungan Sinaga, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Liliasari, M.Pd. from UPI. It was attended by 58 master’s and doctoral students from the Science Education Program.

During the interactive lecture, Prof. Ha discussed collaborative and innovative research methodologies in science education and shared several key references used in his presentation:

  1. https://www.ets.org/research/author-bio/Kane-Michael.html
  2. https://www.aera.net/publications/books/standards-for-educational-psychological-testing-2014-edition
  3. https://visible-learning.org/hattie-ranking-influences-effect-sizes-learning-achievement/

Through these materials, participants gained insights into the validity framework in educational assessment (Michael T. Kane), the standards for psychological and educational testing (AERA, APA, NCME), and John Hattie’s meta-analysis on factors influencing student achievement including high-impact factors such as teacher feedback (d=0.66), instructional quality (d=0.60), and metacognitive strategies (d=0.55).

This activity contributed to the academic capacity development of postgraduate students and strengthened international collaboration between UPI and Seoul National University through the Adjunct Professor scheme. It also directly supported the university’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU), particularly in improving the quality of learning and fostering global academic partnerships.

In conclusion, the event emphasized the importance of sustaining international collaboration through joint research, international publication, and doctoral co-supervision, serving as a model for other study programs at UPI to accelerate internationalization efforts.
