The Science Education Study Program (Prodi Pendidikan IPA) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Education (FPMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) represented by Prof. Ari Widodo, M.Ed., participated in the 12th Indonesian National Education Convention (KONASPI XII). It held from 2 to 4 October 2026 at the Nusa Dua Convention Center (NDCC), Bali. Hosted by Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), the convention gathered 1,694 academics, university leaders, and education stakeholders from the 12 state teacher-education institutions (LPTK) of the LPTKNI Rectors’ Forum, with UPI among the participating institutions.

Carrying the theme Educational Transformation Toward Golden Indonesia 2045: Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainable Education, KONASPI XII featured addresses from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, and the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Abdul Mu’ti. Strengthening STEM was highlighted as one of the key national priorities, alongside deep learning, character education, English proficiency, coding, and artificial intelligence. These priorities resonate strongly with the Science Education Study Program’s mission of preparing science teachers who are innovative, collaborative, and committed to sustainability.

The program’s participation underscores its commitment to contributing to national education policy and strengthening collaboration among LPTKs. KONASPI XII was designed not merely as a venue for academic exchange but as a forum to produce shared formulations and actionable policy recommendations for the future of Indonesian education. The insights gained from the convention are expected to enrich the program’s teaching, research, and community engagement in support of the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
