On Friday, 18th Nov 2024, SMA Cikal Serpong’s biology class embarked on an exciting educational visit to Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) for an interactive session on the Structure and Function of Animals. From 9 to 11 AM WIB, the session was led by Ms. Lilit Rusyati, supported by a talented team of instructors, including Ms. Amaira, Ajeng, Firda, Dina, and Indria. The activity was designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities that bridge theory and practice in animal biology.
During the visit, seven enthusiastic students, accompanied by two dedicated teachers, delved into the fascinating world of animal morphology and anatomy by dissecting mice. The session began with an overview of the dissection process, highlighting ethical considerations and safety protocols. Under the guidance of UPI instructors, participants explored the internal and external structures of mice, gaining a deeper understanding of their functions and relationships within biological systems. This hands-on experience allowed students to observe concepts they had previously learned in class, making biology come alive in a truly memorable way.
The visit fostered a collaborative and engaging environment where students and teachers from SMA Cikal Serpong could ask questions and interact directly with experts. By combining practical skills with academic insights, this activity not only enhanced the participants’ knowledge of animal biology but also inspired curiosity and excitement for scientific exploration. The UPI International Programs on Science Education (IPSE) was thrilled to host such motivated learners and looks forward to future collaborations with schools like SMA Cikal Serpong!
